ATM electronics control their manufacturing process with Microsoft Dynamics AX

ATM Electronics Ltd. won eurofinancing from the Operational Programme "Development of the Competitiveness of Bulgaria Economy 2007-2013" - procedure „Upgarade of technology in small and medium enterprises“ for fulfilling a project for technological modernization and implementation of ERP system.

The CEO of ATM Electronics Sergej Shardin explains that ERP system in the project was included as the company's activities has developed a lot during the past few years and this has led to some problems with the manufacturing planning and resource planning.

ATM has chosen the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics AX because of the experience and professionalism of FTS team, the intuitive user interface and the innovative technology used in the ERP system.

ATM Electronics is a middle-sized, independent private company -complete service provider in the area of assembly of electronic printed circuits, mounting of units, racks and "boxbuilding", as well as electrical testing according to customers' specifications and customers' orders.

The main purpose of the implementaton of the ERP system Microsoft Dynamics AX is to support the process of fulfilling the customer orders, as well as managing information about:

  • materials by customers for a certain manufacturing;
  • phases of manufacturing – up to where can a customer order be fulfilled, if some of the materials are missing;
  • materials that have to be purchased;
  • opportunity to reserve materials and vice versa;
  • support of some versions of the Bills of Materials (BOM);
  • change in the order status – Planned, Started, level of the production, etc.

The implementation of the system leads to more effective managemet of the resources – hours needed for the execution of some operations, also this information must be available by departments.

One of the requirements of ATM is after the implementation of the ERP system to be able to register the manufacturing of medium products (components), as only the production of end products have been registered so far.
