M-Files Inc., the developer of M-Files flexible cloud, on-premise, and hybrid enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, today announced the company has been included by Gartner, Inc. in the 2012 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management.
According to Gartner’s 2012 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management, "Companies look to ECM to provide a full life cycle approach to information -- from creation to destruction. ECM tools provide this level of support for many enterprises, beginning with integration with the Microsoft Office Suite for management of new and collaboratively authored content, to the use of inherited predefined metadata to automate the eventual records categorization. Companies use these tools to demonstrate best efforts at organizing and managing their information in a proactive manner to meet legal needs."
"We believe the inclusion of M-Files in Gartner's 2012 Magic Quadrant for ECM further illustrates that we have become a recognized player in the global ECM and document management markets," said Greg Milliken, president of M-Files Inc.
"We've earned our way into these large, competitive markets by exceeding customer expectations with solutions that just work better -- in the cloud, on-premise or hybrid, with an identical experience across them all. One of the biggest strengths of M-Files is that it can be readily and affordably adapted to the needs of specific vertical industries, as well as individual businesses, especially those that are highly-regulated with demanding compliance requirements. We do this with a unique metadata-driven architecture that is fundamentally different from traditional folder-based approaches, and it's enabling us to win market share from much large competitors."
M-Files continues to experience phenomenal growth, and has seen dramatic increases in new users, licenses sold, and reseller partners, which have contributed to a five-year growth rate of over 585 percent. The number of M-Files licenses sold in 2011 increased by more than 53 percent over 2010, while the M-Files user base grew by over 40 percent to more than 160,000 during the same period, and the company is on track to maintain this rapid growth in 2012. The M-Files reseller channel was a key driver of its worldwide growth in 2011, with total revenue generated through the company’s reseller network growing by more than 100 percent.
"Our mission is to empower companies of all sizes in a variety of industries to unlock the power of information to improve their business performance by leveraging metadata," continued Milliken. "With the recent launch of M-Files 9.0, we've continued to build upon a truly revolutionary metadata-driven platform that forms the basis of a variety of targeted solutions for document management, quality management, contract lifecycle management, and more. Metadata is the key to a new generation of highly-automated and efficient ECM solutions, and M-Files is making that future accessible today."
