Microsoft Dynamics 365 in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud ERP

Analytics from Gartner, a leading independent research firm, published a new Magic Quadrant, highlighting the key ERP vendors for Product-Centric Enterprises. Microsoft Dynamics 365 takes place in the “Visioners” quadrant.

In the report, Gartner analysts identified and evaluated 9 influential ERP solution providers based on 15 criteria, including Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. Gartner analysts placed Microsoft with Dynamics 365 among the visionaries due to broad operational ERP functionality, native integration with the Azure platform and technology stack.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Features

The report noted that Microsoft Dynamics 365 contains a comprehensive cloud ERP suite targeted at midsize to large global enterprises. In addition to operational ERP, Microsoft provides HCM, asset management, commerce, supply chain, warehousing and transportation capabilities in Dynamics 365. Dynamics 365 uses the Azure platform offerings for reporting and analytics tools via Power BI. The Azure platform also provides machine learning, AI, robotic process automation and cognitive services, as well as capabilities and data from IoT integration.

For the Magic Quadrant, Gartner highlighted the following strengths of Dynamics 365:

• Highest overall customer satisfaction scores from reference customers for the foundational product and Azure platform.
• Ability to provide operational ERP capabilities in a single global ERP instance in the cloud.
• Availability of FastTrack software to help customers quickly deploy cloud solutions.
